Introducing: BeBe Boohgz

How does that saying go?? Oh yes, “Every day a star is born”. We live in a world where it seems like every day, someone knew comes into the sight of the public, displaying their talents as an entertainer, and we are always told they are the next big thing. But, once and a while somebody comes along that doesn’t need a dramatic introduction, because what shines is their persona, their talents, their gift. Someone whose talents are a breath of fresh air and speak for themselves, but are just a glimpse of what that individual is capable of.

Born in Brooklyn NY, June 25th 1986, raised in Beacon NY, a Sacred Heart University Graduate, & a 2008 Olympic Trials participant in the 200m & 400m Dash, Arie “BeBe Boohgz” Dixon has become one of today’s top, “NEED TO LOOK OUT FOR” Artists. Arie Dixon was introduced to the form of creating music in the 5th grade, when his best friend Chris Mendes nonchalantly asked him if he wanted to rap. As a fan of music, they went on to form a group with a few close friends, just for he fun and the love of it. But on July 1st, 2001 Chris Mendes was in a terrible car accident and passed away.

The death separated the group, and left Arie an emotional wreck and for months he became extremely secluded. Writing and recording music seemed to be the only two ways he was able to communicate. It was almost as if he could only say the things he really wanted to say, when he was creating music. Through out time Arie Dixon developed an alter ego, behind the microphone, by the name of BeBe Boohgz (Bay - Bay - Boogs).

BeBe Boohgz is the Artist/Song Writer/Producer, that believes in making music that not only people love, but the music people can feel. With the majority of main stream music sounding some what, “monotonous” during a time where the listeners are gravitating to whatever stimulates their eardrums, Arie “BeBe Boohgz” Dixon seems to able to just that. His music captivates the such a broad and diverse crowd, that it almost puts him in a league of his own. Call it complete insanity, or call it passion, but BeBe Boohgz has found a way to make the music that the game has been missing. The raw and uncut witty lyrics that showcase he is not scared to say how he feels, with a level of honesty and pain, followed with a care free playful thought process, on top of head knodding beats and melodic hooks. To say the least, BeBe Boohgz, is a MUST HAVE on your playlist

Rumour Cubes - The Gove Curve

Cognitive Dissonance PR are pleased to announce that ‘The Narrow State’, the debut album from London-based Rumour Cubes, will be released on 27th February 2012.  Just over a year since they grabbed people’s attention with the ‘We Have Sound Houses Also’ EP, Rumour Cubes are now putting the finishing touches to ‘The Narrow State’, which has been recorded at Cafe Music Studios (Orbital, Brian Eno, King Creosote) in East London.

Rumour Cubes are a six piece instrumental band that fuse violin & viola, guitars, electronics and visual media in to extraordinary cinematic soundscapes. In the past year they have received radio play from BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson and appeared alongside Three Trapped Tigers and Her Name Is Calla on Sweeping The Nation and Cheery Wave Collective compilations.

The Magic Math

I got an email a couple weeks ago from a small band based in Birmingham, Alabama. It took me a bit to actually give it a listen but once I did I wasn’t let down.

They released their double EP “The Magic Math Humbly Suggest Living is a Miracle” not long ago. It sounds like a good mix of soft rock/folk similar to the Avett Brothers or Tom Petty.
